My Roseanne Roseannadanna Hairbrush

It is really amazing what you can find when you just stop and look around. As a fairly organized person, I know where almost anything is in my house but every once in awhile I find something that I forgot about. The latest is my new hairbrush. Well, it isn't really NEW but it is new to me. I found it in a drawer in my bathroom that stores travel items so I only look in there a few times a year. When I DO look in there, rarely do I look in the very back of the drawer. Well, I just happened to take a peek the other day and lo-and-behold! I found a hairbrush. I usually use a large comb or hair pick but this brush looked like it might actually work in my naturally wavy hair (thanks, Mom!) without loosing half of it to the brush. The only problem with this great new hairbrush, is that with my hair type, the more I brush the bigger my hair becomes. Yes, this was great in the 80s when big hair was in, but it isn't so "in" anymore. This brush is really great because it gets out all the tangles and leaves my hair nice and soft...and really big. The longer I brush, the more I resemble a blonde Roseanne Roseannadanna. Which, again, in the 80s might have been cool but not so much now. But with Halloween coming up, this may be a great disguise for me! Tangle-free BIG hair and a costume all in one! To make this long story even longer, the point is to look around and see if there is something you have overlooked for a long time that you might be able to put into use right now without having to buy a new one. Less consumerism, more creativity! Let the hunt begin!

Thanks for the reminder to take the time to LOOK at what we already have on hand. Last weekend when I put away the summer clothes and brought out the woolies I discovered a classic suit that I purchased at end of season sale two years ago, put away and forgot about. It was like having a successful shopping trip without taking out my wallet.

We have been trying to live on less and less - downsized the home to an apartment, sold the cars and ride the bus, etc. However, it is AMAZING how quickly our stuff multiplies. Why is that? Well, thanks for the reminder to clean out the drawers before I head to the store.
